Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO is promising something really awesome to come next week.

Today, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that next week the company will “launch something awesome”, as Reuters reported.

In accordance with the news service, Zuckerberg revealed reporters in his company’s office in Seattle that the team had developed the forthcoming project. Seattle office of Facebook played a substantial role in the development of the recently improved mobile site of social network, inducing Reuters to suggest the forthcoming launch might be mobile or tablet-related.

In case the launch is tablet related, it may be long-awaited iPad application of Facebook. Currently, the company offers an iPhone application, but owners of iPad have so far been compelled to deploy the full site. Previously this month, The New York Times quoted sources who stated that Facebook was readying an iPad application and may be launching it the following weeks.

So again, Facebook could reveal a new photo-sharing app for the iPhone. A few weeks ago, TechCrunch declared that it had obtained a 50MB file that is containing documents and images on a new Facebook application which would let users to share photos. This program, as blog claimed, wouldn’t be integrated into existing iPhone application of Facebook, but would derive benefit from the service’s social graph.

In case Facebook does not offer such platforms, it can just reveal a project TechCrunch identified earlier this month that is called Project Spartan. In accordance with the blog, that reffered to anonymous sources, Spartan is destined to be an HTML5-based competitor to App Store by Apple. The service runs in mobile Safari.

At the time TechCrunch reported that “80 or so” of third-party developers had already registered to Project Spartan, and including FarmVille creator Zynga.
Now it remains to be seen, whether any of those services would be the “something awesome” which would launches next week.
